1st annual meeting of the DFG-Schwerpunktprogramm 1114 (February 25 - March 2 2002) at the Reisensburg castle in Guenzburg

The first annual meeting had been organized accordingly: the program emphasises the interdisciplinary training of the SPP's collaborators in order to encourage the understanding and further cooperation between the participating scientific communities. In the first year of the program the presentation of the projects themselves was limited to a poster session and some lectures refering to particular projects.

The training had been organized in two phases. The first three days had been devoted to a general training on basic concepts of statistics, nonlinear dynamics and multiscale methods in time series analysis. This part of the workshop primarily addressed the Ph.D. students and postdocs working in the projects.

Within the second part (Thursday till Saturday) the training had been continued by more research relevant lectures. Thursday afternoon was reserved for invited talks, a poster session with project presentations and a related general meeting.

For those who like to know more on the interesting location we refer to some information on the castle's history, written by some fellows of the University of Ulm.
