The GP4MED project is a collaborative project between the Center for Industrial Mathematics (ZeTeM) at the University of Bremen, the Institute for Medical Electrical Engineering (IME) at the University of Lübeck, the Fraunhofer Institute for Individualized and Cell-Based Medical Technology (IMTE), and various medical and industrial partners such as Löwenstein Medical Innovation, Hugo Rost & Co. GmbH, the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH), and the BG Hospital Hamburg. The goal of the project is to develop new mathematical methods and models to efficiently solve dynamic inverse problems in medicine. For this purpose, Gaussian process-based approaches are used, which enable precise modeling of physiological processes. The developed methods are intended to be applied in various medical applications such as computed tomography (CT), electrical impedance tomography (EIT), and electrocardiography (ECG) to improve image quality and support diagnosis.
