Requirements for the Bachelor course industrial mathematics

Formally the general qualification for university entrance (or an other qualification recognized as equivalent) is the only requirement for studying this course.
Who wants to study industrial mathematics should show some interest in mathematics; on the one hand in abstract methods, on the other hand in their application to engineering and science. Professional previous knowledge is helpful but not necessary. Since computers are the most important instrument for an industrial mathematician , you should be into working with computers. Computer experience is useful, but all essential skills will be learned in the course eventually. You should be interested in mathematics as well as in technical applications, especially the familiarizing with an applied technical subject is important. English language skills are, just like in other courses, required to be able to study specialist literature. Skills like they are earned in an average ''Abitur'' are demanded by the beginning of the third term.

Some previous knowledge of mathematics is helpful for successfully completing your studies. But necessary are motivation, desire to learn, independent working and the ability to work in a team.
